If you are thinking of visiting Eagles Mere and looking for the full Eagles Mere Experience, why not stay for a visit and consider becoming a temporary member? To qualify you must rent a home in Eagles Mere Borough from an EMA member in good standing or stay in an Eagles Mere hotel. Membership allows you full use of the Eagles Mere Association’s facilities. As a temporary member you will be able to set up your beach chairs at the beach and take a swim in the refreshing pristine natural waters of the lake. While at the beach you can also rent sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards to enjoy your time boating on the lake. Temporary members may not bring their own boats. If you are looking for a little exercise after enjoying a great lunch at the Beach Shop, you can head out on a 2 mile walk around the lake on the Laurel Path, with stops at Gypsy's Landing, Lovers Leap, the Crestmont dock, Edge Mere Dock and many other points of interest along the way. When you get back to the beach and want another vantage point, consider hopping on the Hardly Able for a loop around the lake (no charge). The Hardly Able is a canopied WWI wooden troop launch ship that is over 100 years old! Some people say Eagles Mere is like a "family camp" with all day activities for kids organized by the Eagles Mere Athletic Association or story time at the Eagles Mere Conservancy's log cabin, but also lots of activities for adults too! You can also become a temporary member at the Eagles Mere Tennis Center or the historic Eagles Mere Country Club. Eagles Mere also has an active cultural scene, hosted by Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts with entertainment most weekends and some weeknights during the summer season. You can also explore the local surrounding area such as High Knob and Canyon Vista overlooking the beautiful Loyalsock Creek in the beautiful Endless Mountains. There is no doubt a week spent on the mountain will lead to family memories that will last a lifetime.
